Citizenship Poetry Day Event

Ryan Higgins and Ben Kettyles, Year 12 participated in a Citizenship event recently In the Fermanagh Youth Trust Centre. They read a poem on the Theme of Freedom for Disabled people which is the Theme we are currently studying in Citizenship. It was a great success and we were joined by a number of other schools and local press. Their photo was in The Impartial Reporter.

Western Trusts’ Careers in Healthcare event

St Michaels hosted the Western Trusts’ Careers in Healthcare event on Thursday 22nd of September. There was a great atmosphere and buzz around hall during the event. There were experts from 14 different fields of the Health Care sector including Dietetics & Nutrition, Radiography, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language therapy and Social Care. Over 300 pupils attended with schools from right across the North West and Donegal represented. Songs Of Praise

On Wednesday 27th September, representatives from St. Michael’s College Choir were accompanied to St. Macartin’s Cathedral in Enniskillen by Miss Ferguson to take part in the prestigious recording of BBC One’s Songs of Praise. The Choir recorded hymns alongside many other schools from the Fermanagh area as well as the general public. The Conductor for the recording was Mr Michael Mc Cracken, accompanied on Organ by Mr Stephen Hamill. Pupils fully enjoyed the event and were praised by many partakers including the BBC team for their courtesy, enthusiasm and singing. The programme will be aired in November/ December.
