St. Michael’s College receive delivery of new equipment through Quinn Partnership

St. Michael’s College, as part of their new recently established partnership with Quinn Industrial Holdings (QIH), received a timely delivery of new state of the art equipment and software for the start of the new academic year. This significant investment includes a 3-D CADCAM Laser cutter, 3-D Industrial Printer, Industrial and Construction Engineering CAD modelling software. These developments will enable St. Michael’s to continue to expand and build the Quinn Technology & Design Department as a centre of excellence within Co. Fermanagh and West Tyrone. Underlining this will be the direct technical support made available to support the curriculum not only in Technology & Design but also across other departments within the college.

QIH also play a role in developing and implementing programmes in conjunction with the college’s Careers Department. Programmes such as Interview Skills and paid work placements help to develop pupils’ soft skills, leaving them better prepared for the world of work.

Newly appointed Principal, Mr Mark Henry commented, ‘The provision of these new technologies will allow our pupils to gain the experience and necessary skills expected from them by future employers. Furthermore, it allows our boys to be in a strong position to also access specialist paid work placements that pupils can undertake through this unique partnership.’
