On Thursday February 9th the Irish department had its annual Fáinne presentation. Over sixty Year 10 students were successful in the oral exam and were awarded an Fainne Airgid (Silver fáinne).
The Fáinne was presented this year by guest speaker Seán Mac Labhraí. Recently retired from his post as Senior Irish lecturer in St Mary’s College , Belfast Seán is recognised in Irish language and educational circles as an enthusiastic and motivational linguist and teacher. He has had a number of books published and is sought after as adjudicator in language and drama competitions all over Ireland
