On Wednesday 9th March, the Music Department had the fortunate opportunity to welcome Mr Richard Meyrick to St. Michael’s for a Piano Master class. Richard is a world renowned dynamically powerful pianist whose performances frequently bring audiences to their feet in rapturous acclaim for his “thrilling technical wizardry”.
6 Pupils from Year 11 and 12 GCSE music classes took part in the master class with Year 11 music students as their audience. This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience with all pupils walking away with a new mind frame for musical performance.
Miss Ferguson would like to congratulate all pupils who took part in the event, especially Odhran Mahon and Oisin Mc Manus who has been selected for further workshops in hope to get onto the Piano Scholarships programme in the summer.
