Draft Health and Safety Policy for consultation

The Board of Governors is pleased to publish a draft Health and Safety Policy for consultation with parents/guardians, staff and students. Draft Health and Safety Policy Link The Policy includes an extensive Risk Assessment at Annex E and draws particular attention to the issue of cars on the front avenue in the mornings and evenings when students are being dropped off and/or collected. This matter has been a safety concern for some time and the Governors would be pleased to hear the views of everyone in order to make the avenue as safe as possible. Domhnall Lynam , Winner of the Ulster Final of Abair

Domhnall Lynam , Winner of the Ulster Final of Abair, the A2 Irish Public Speaking competition. St Michael’s Irish Department have a history of producing excellent public speakers for Gael Linn’s Abair Public Speaking Competition and 2017 was certainly no different. On Friday April 7th the final of the competition was held in Eamhain Macha, the Navan Fort interpretative centre. Graan Novena of Hope Performance

Miss Ferguson conducted a performance at the Graan Novena of Hope on Saturday 25th March. Guest speaker was Jim Breen and he founded the Cycle against Suicide foundation. Schools involved were St. Michael’s College, St. Fanchea’s College and Enniskillen Royal Grammar School. The ensemble performed at 11 am mass and 6.30pm mass and received standing ovations both times.

Centre of Excellence continues to deliver for St. Michael’s College and Quinn through Partnership

Recently, phase two of this newly established partnership has further delivered for local pupils within Co. Fermanagh and West Tyrone with the arrival of additional new equipment into the Quinn sponsored Technology & Design department. QIH has also provided both technical and structural support for the installation of this equipment. The school would also like to express its gratitude to others that enacted in phase two, namely Swift Stainless Steel Engineering, Lagan Electrical and PM Mechanical Engineering.
