Civil Engineering Day at Queens

In my opinion this event proved to be a very valuable asset in helping me grasp a much better understanding of the joys, pleasures, as well as the pressure and responsibilities incorporated with this career. Firstly, the day had a very pleasant start with a short yet informative presentation by the lecturers. This presentation gave me a great sense of relief as it illustrated how greatly involved the students and teachers of this department are in terms of following their passion for engineering. 9T Claim The Year 9 League Title

9T won the year nine league for 2016 in fine style after school on Tuesday the 15th November. In truth, they deserved the win with a fine team display of attacking football and ferocious tackling. Kostadine Nikolav used his strength to collect a lot of ball around the middle of the field and himself and Fionan O’Brien launched many attacks forward. To be fair 9M battled hard with Eoin Farry and Paul Bennett defending well at the back and goalkeeper Eifin Doherty pulling off some fine saves. 9M Christmas Shoebox Appeal

Pupils from 9M completed the Christmas Shoe Box Appeal. They filled 40 shoeboxes with a range of simple Christmas gifts, including; Items for school – like a pen, colouring book, To wash – Some hygiene items – toothbrush and toothpaste, soap, comb, To Wear – Small clothing items – a hat, scarf, gloves, socks or underwear A treat – sunglasses, game, small Irish gift, a photo of yourself, sweets, make up, a cuddly toy, skipping rope, yo-yo, a finger puppet. This fantastic work and effort will ensure that children in hospitals, schools, shelters, churches, orphanages, community centres or family homes in Eastern Europe and Africa will have a much happier Christmas!
