“The best experience of my life“
This quote from a student says it all.

On January 16th, 85 students , 8 members of staff and a Doctor left Saint Michael’s for a weeks skiing in Artesina in Italy. The Mondole ski area which connects the resorts of Artesina, Frabosa Soprana and Prato Nevoso is an excellent ski area for beginners and covers about 100km of pistes, many of which are north facing ensuring good snow conditions. Progression is terrific for keen learners and plenty of long, wide runs above the trees, will tempt ambitious intermediates to work hard on their techniques.
We stayed in an exceptionally well placed 3* hotel beside the ski school and lifts. This meant you put your skis on outside the hotel and enjoyed 6 wonderful days of skiing. The weather was perfect: excellent snow and lots of sunshine. The beginners’ slope was perhaps a little steep but before long everyone was begging for the higher slopes found at the top of the ski lifts. Some, initially, found these a little daunting but by the end of the week everyone had conquered the blue slopes and we all wore our badges with pride.
Many continued to overcome the red slopes and raced down the occasional black without fear. (I can assure you the lack of fear was not on my part!)

Saint Michael’s really appreciates parents giving their sons the opportunity to take part in this wonderful experience and I have to thank the staff who volunteered to supervise. Without them this trip would not have been possible. (Though, in all fairness, apart from a level of exhaustion not usually seen in school, the staff got as much out of this trip.)
As you can see from the pictures and video this was an excellent trip. I am already making plans for next year’s trip and hopefully we can continue to give our students the experience of a lifetime.
