The Home Economics project public tender process was completed in January 2009 but approval from the Department to get the building programme underway was only obtained in April due to budgetary constraints.
Work began on site on 18 May 2009. The contract was awarded to Lowry Brothers , Castlederg and costed £320,000 plus VAT and consultancy fees.
The project was finished at the end of January 2010 and is now open and being fully utilised by the Home economics department.
